Seventeen steps from reviewing your current site to a live, upgraded one, with nothing lost along the way. At each step you can see what we do, what we need from you, and the checks we run behind the scenes.
- What we do
- Your part
- Checks behind the scenes
Comparing website offers? Compare the process, not just the price.
Before you choose anyone, including us, ask each company what happens before and after the site goes live. See the questions to ask any web designer, and how we answer them.
Which path are you on?
Every step below applies to a full redesign. Here is how the other two paths differ.
Full redesign
New design on WordPress or our AI Builder, replacing the old site. You follow all seventeen steps.
Refresh on the same platform
New design and content on the setup you have now. We work on a private copy, your page addresses mostly stay the same, and the redirect step is shorter.
Move only
Same site, new home. We review, back up, move and check it, then switch your domain. Design steps are skipped. Scope and price are confirmed before we start.
Review
We learn what you have, make a safe copy, and decide what stays before anything changes.
-
Intake form
What we do
Send you a short online form for your package, read your answers, and write them into one project brief. Nothing is built from guesses.
Your part
Business name, phone, email, hours, address or service area, services and prices, your goals, and the phrases customers use to find you. Also send your current website address, what you want to keep from it, and any old information still online.
We start once these are in
Short answers are fine, and “not sure” is fine for most questions. These must be answered before we touch anything:
- Exact business name, phone and email
- City and state, and whether your street address is public
- Your hours and main services
- What the site must do: calls, quotes, bookings or sales
- Your current website address and where your domain is registered
- Anything old or wrong still showing online
- Your package details: pages wanted, products and shipping, or booking rules
Anything you have not confirmed is left out, never invented.
Start your search profiles today
Right after intake we go over your listings. If you do not have a Google Business Profile, Bing Places or Apple Business Connect listing yet, please start them now with your business email so you own them. Verification is done by you, the owner, and can take days. You do not need a finished website to begin.
-
Access and a safe copy
What we do
Set up access safely together on a call, then make a full backup copy of your current site before touching anything. Your old site stays live while we work.
Your part
Give us access to your current website, and to the place your domain is registered. Never write passwords on the form. Your domain stays in your name.
Checks behind the scenes
- Full backup of pages, images and settings saved
- Backup tested so it can be restored if needed
- Domain registrar and current hosting recorded
- Where your business email is hosted recorded
Why it matters
A backup means nothing you have today can be lost by accident. Knowing where your domain and email live now is what lets us switch your site later without interrupting your email.
-
Old-site review
What we do
Go through your current site page by page and write up what is there, what works, and what is out of date. You get a plain-language summary.
Your part
Tell us what you love, what you hate, and what customers say about the site. If you can, share access to your site statistics.
What we review
- Every page and its web address
- Page titles and descriptions you have now
- Which pages bring in visitors, if statistics are available
- Forms, booking, or store orders that are in use
- Broken links and missing images
- Old hours, prices, services and phone numbers
- How it looks and loads on a phone
- Search profiles and listings that point to your site
Why it matters
Pages that already bring visitors, or that other websites link to, are worth protecting. Old facts still on the site can contradict your listings and confuse customers and AI tools. We want to know all of this before we decide what to build, not after.
-
Keep, change or drop
What we do
Turn the review into a page plan. For every old page we decide whether to keep it, rewrite it, merge it into another page, or retire it, and where each old address will lead.
Your part
Approve the page plan and the list of what stays and goes before we build. Confirm the page count fits your package.
Why it matters
Deciding where every old address goes now is what keeps you from losing the visitors you already have. It also stops us from rebuilding pages you do not need.
Plan
Logo, photos, listings and design direction.
-
Logo, photos and design direction
Option A: we design a new logo
We create your logo and a short usage sheet. The site colors and style come from it.
Free: Business, Store, Launch
Starter Site: a logo is an optional paid add-on.
Option B: keep your logo
Send your current logo as an image or PDF, and tell us if it needs cleanup. We build the new look around it.
Photos and design
We reuse good photos from your current site and prepare every image for the web with a written description. Missing photos are replaced with clearly marked samples until you send real ones. For a quick look at style options, we can prepare design pictures of your home page.
Your part
Send newer photos of your work, team and location, plus real customer reviews. Look at the style options and pick the one you like.
Why it matters
Real photos of your work and your team build trust faster than generic pictures. Each image also gets a written description so search engines understand it and screen readers can describe it.
-
Your listings
What we do
Compare your existing Google, Bing, Apple and other listings against your site and your intake answers. If something differs, we ask you which is correct.
Your part
Confirm which details are correct. Start any listing you do not have yet, and finish verification when Google or Bing asks you to.
Why it matters
Your business name, address or service area, and phone must match everywhere. When your website, Google profile and other listings agree, Google can be confident which details are right. When they differ, it has to guess, and customers may get an old number or wrong hours.
Build
We build privately. Your current site stays live and unchanged.
-
Build the new site privately
What we do
Build your pages from the approved plan on your package, either WordPress or our AI Builder. We use only the services, prices and details you confirmed.
Your part
Answer a few quick questions if something is unclear, and send anything still missing.
-
Move your content and real information
What we do
Bring over everything we agreed to keep, rewrite what needed it, and swap in your real name, phone, hours, photos and colors, with tap-to-call and a map.
Your part
Nothing required. We will contact you if a detail is missing or two sources disagree.
Checks behind the scenes
- No old hours, prices or services carried over by accident
- No sample text or sample images left
- Contact forms tested to reach your inbox
- Buttons like “Add to bag” or “Book now” kept only if they work
-
Search and AI setup
What we do
Set up your site so search engines and AI tools can find and read it. We keep page titles and descriptions that already work, rewrite the weak ones, and build a FAQ from real searches, answered only with facts you confirmed.
Business, Store, Launch
Starter sites get basic titles, descriptions and image text.
Your part
Review the FAQ answers and confirm they are accurate. Tell us whether you want AI tools to read your site and whether AI companies may use it for training.
Why it matters
This is the half most websites skip. A site that is published but not set up for search is like a shop with no sign and no listing. Nobody can promise rankings, but a site that is not set up properly makes it much harder for anyone to find you at all.
What we set up, and why each piece matters
- Page titles and descriptions: what people see in Google results. A vague title like “Home” gives nobody a reason to click.
- One main heading per page: tells visitors and search engines the topic at a glance.
- Image descriptions: read aloud by screen readers and used by search engines to understand your images.
- Business details for Google: your name, phone, hours and service area written so Google reads them directly. It does not guarantee any special display.
- FAQ from real searches: answers customers before they call, and gives AI tools an accurate source.
- Sitemap and robots file: help search tools find your pages. One wrong setting can hide a whole site, so we check it.
- Real social links: connect your site to the same business elsewhere.
-
Redirect plan
What we do
Set it up so every old page address sends visitors to the right new page. Pages we retired go to the closest match, not an error page.
Your part
Nothing required. We will ask if two old pages could go to more than one new place.
Checks behind the scenes
- Redirect list built from the old-site review
- Every old address tested after the redirects are set
- No old address lands on an error page
- Redirects point to the final address in one step
Why it matters
Google, other websites and your customers’ bookmarks all know your old addresses. If those lead nowhere after the switch, people and search engines hit error pages. Redirects carry them to the right new page so you keep what you have built.
-
Payment and booking test
What we do
For stores and booking sites, agree what moves over (products, categories, services) and run test orders in test mode only, to confirm checkout, shipping and confirmation emails work.
Store and Launch
Your part
You enter your live payment account details, with us on the call. We never handle them.
Check
Two rounds of checks before you ever see the draft.
-
Our quality check
What we do
Go through every page on a computer and on a phone, click every link, test every form, and compare the new site against the old-site review.
Your part
Nothing. This happens before you see the draft.
Checks behind the scenes
- Every page viewed at desktop and phone size
- Every menu link and old address opens a working page
- Phone, map, forms and booking work
- Name, phone and hours identical in header, footer and contact page
- Everything you wanted kept is still there
- Page count within your package
- Speed check and a scan for site errors
Why it matters
Many visitors will see your site on a phone first, so we check there first. We also find the quiet problems you would never notice yourself: a broken link, a form that sends nowhere, or a page that quietly went missing in the move.
-
Search and AI scan
What we do
Run a scan that scores the new site on five things and compares your facts across the website and your listings. We fix any problem it finds, or bring it to you if it needs your decision.
Business, Store, Launch
Your part
Settle any mismatch we find, such as hours on Google that differ from the site.
Scorecard behind the scenes
- Crawler access: search and AI tools can reach your site
- Facts consistency: name, phone, hours, start year and prices match everywhere
- Structured data: tested with Google’s Rich Results Test
- Sitemap: valid and listing the right pages
- llms.txt: a plain-text summary for AI tools, if you want one
Why it matters
If your phone number or hours differ between your website and your listings, Google has to guess which is right, and AI tools may repeat the wrong version. We fix the mismatch before launch, and we never call a site search-ready and AI-ready until it passes.
Launch
You review first. We switch over only after your OK.
-
Your private draft
What we do
Send a private link to the new site by text, with an email copy that lists what to look at and what is still a placeholder. Your current site stays live while you review.
Your part
Look through every page on your phone and a computer. Tell us what to change, and send anything still missing.
-
Switch day
What we do
After your OK, we agree on a day, turn on the redirects, point your domain at the new site, and check your email. Your backup copy of the old site is kept.
Your part
Give the final approval to switch, and tell us the best time of day.
Checks behind the scenes
- Email settings checked before and after the switch
- Every important page and old address tested on the live site
- Forms and phone links tested live
- Site cache cleared and pages re-checked
Why it matters
The switch is the moment a site can go wrong, so we plan it. Checking your email settings first means your business email keeps working. Because you keep your domain and the old copy, we can fix anything quickly.
-
Handoff and watching for problems
What we do
Walk you through the new site and send a written summary of what was built, your year-two hosting plan, and what is and is not included. In the first weeks we watch for pages that report errors and fix them. Listings still waiting on your verification do not hold up your handoff.
You also get a written list of where everything lives (your domain, your site and your business profiles) and who owns each one, so you always know how to reach it.
30-minute AI Opportunity Session: Business, Store, Launch
Your part
Ask questions, and tell us what you would like to learn to manage yourself.
Why it matters
Even a careful move can miss an old address that someone still uses. Watching for error pages after the switch lets us catch and fix those quickly, before customers or search engines give up on them.
-
Getting found and measuring
What we do
Update your listings with the new website address, and set up, or list for you to set up, the accounts that help people find you and show how the site performs. We record a new starting point and compare it with your old numbers where we have them.
Your part
Finish any verification still open, give us access so we can submit your sitemap, and consider leaving a Google review once the site is live.
Set up behind the scenes
- Website address updated on your Google, Bing and Apple listings
- Google Analytics, counting phone taps and form sends
- Google Search Console with your sitemap submitted
- Bing Webmaster Tools with your sitemap submitted
- A new baseline of clicks, views, reviews and leads
Verification can take days, and it never delays your launch
Only you can verify your profiles, and Google’s timing is out of our hands. We track each listing as pending until you finish, and we check in with you if it is still open a week after launch.
After launch
Domain, email and hosting are included for your first year. After that, a simple monthly hosting plan keeps the site backed up and running. Your domain is registered in your name, and the site is yours, so you are never required to keep a plan with us. Your business email is part of your hosting plan, so it moves with your hosting if you ever change hosts. Ongoing local search work, such as Google Business Profile management, new city pages and a review plan, is a separate service.
